Knoll Lipizzans is named after the large butterfly
bushes (Buddleia davidii) found throughout the property.
They attract a spectacular variety of butterflies, hummingbirds,
and other insects to this hillside. Located in Loudoun County,
Virginia, the heart of the Virginia Hunt Country, this area
is known for lush horse farms and fox hunting. Other than
grazing land, some of the farm is planted in disease-resistant
American Chestnut trees (Castanea dentata). Vegetable
and flower gardens of all types surround our Appalachian-style
log home. A small apiary and one-acre stocked pond complete
the vision. Every season displays the beauty of God's grace
here. |

Butterfly
Knoll Lipizzans. The name evokes a pastoral vision that
belies the serious training and breeding that epitomizes a World
Class operation. Started in 2002 by Bob, Renee, and William
Geisler in Lovettsville, Virginia, Butterfly Knoll Lipizzans
blends the dreams of a former Cavalry Officer, with the love
of his fair maiden. Bob wanted to raise Lipizzans because of
their distinguished military history. Renee sought to protect
and preserve rare and endangered plants and |
animals.
Since the age of 3, William has been in extended training. However,
he may someday grace an Olympic event aboard a Lipizzan. The Geisler's
are enjoying their new venture and life in the country. They would
love to hear from you, if you would like more information. E-mail
